  • These are merely quick points; we will now get into more detail.

Students and working professionals alike prefer this training to advance their professions. In addition to being taken as a conventional course, it can also be done online or part-time. One must be a graduate in order to enrol in the course.

How do you take the PGDM?

We've proven that a degree is necessary, and it can be in any subject. In addition, passing an entrance exam is required for enrolment in any college. Some private colleges also offer entrance- free admission.

MAT

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT), a national-level management entrance exam for MBA/PGDM admissions, is administered by the All India Management Association (AIMA). Four times a year, in February, May, September, and December, this PGDM entrance exam is presented. Candidates who fulfil the requirements may submit an application to any of the 800+ business schools that accept the MAT.

The MAT is given in three different formats: offline (Paper Based Test, or PBT), online (Computer Based Test, or CBT), and remotely proctored (Internet Based Test, or IBT). Any mode is acceptable for candidates to use to take the exam. The costs, exam schedule, and syllabus are the same for all three options, but the exam dates vary.

CMAT

For admission to MBA/PGDM schools, the National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT). One of the best management exams in India is the CMAT. Approximately 70,000 candidates apply each year. CMAT scores are accepted by several of India's top business schools. The CMAT question exam covers a variety of topics, including quantitative techniques and data interpretation, logical reasoning, language comprehension, general awareness and innovation, and entrepreneurship. CMAT has a 400 overall score. The three-hour CMAT exam is given utilising a computer-based testing format (CBT).

XAT

An annual management entrance exam for admission to XLRI Jamshedpur's PGDM programmes is called the Xavier Aptitude Test, or XAT. The XAT score is accepted for admission by about 1,000 B- schools in India. In more than 70 locations throughout India, the XAT 2023 exam will be given in computer-based format. The XAT question paper will have questions from four subjects: Decision Making, Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge. There is a sectional time limit on the 180-minute XAT exam.

GMAT

The GMAT, or Graduate Management Aptitude Test, is a computer-based exam used to evaluate applicants for management schools' reading, writing, and analytical abilities. The GMAT does not have negative marking, although the maximum number of attempts is eight. Additionally, it is one of the more costly tests to take for management courses.

ATMA

The AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA), a national-level pg entrance exam for admission to MBA, PGDM, MCA, and PGDBA programmes, is administered by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS). Over 750 management institutes in India recognise ATMA scores for admission to different management programmes. Test takers' aptitude, which is necessary for higher management studies, will be evaluated. The ATMA exam question paper is divided into six sections. The exam is offered multiple times each year. Th e exam assesses verbal skills, quantitative reasoning, and analytical reasoning.

How Do I Get Ready for the PGDM Course?

The advice provided below, which was put together by several professionals, can help you prepare effectively for the PGDM, or Post Graduate Diploma in Management, course.

  • You should use sample question papers, practise tests, and quizzes to prepare in advance. You might improve your approach to the admission exam by considering your missteps.
  • You need to be able to respond to 180–200 questions in roughly two hours, which translates to a minute or so each question.
  • Current events and general knowledge questions are commonly posed in entrance exams, as well as occasionally in group discussions and personal interviews. You should continue reading newspapers because of this.
  • Try to concentrate more on your ability to comprehend facts, your analytical abilities, your general knowledge, and other topics that are included in all of the questions.

Assuring graduates of an initial annual salary of INR 7-8 lacs per annum, the PGDM programme proves to be a great first step in developing a career in management. It offers a variety of work prospects in the management industry, including positions in the financial, human resource, information technology, business research, and business marketing departments, among other fields.
