Everything you need to know about PGDM Specialization!

In order to give the students a practical understanding of management, top-rated B-schools offer a two-year diploma programme called the Post Graduate Diploma in Management, or PGDM.

Course Eligibility for PGDM

Regarding the educational requirements for the PGDM programme, you must have a graduating degree from any field, whether it be a B.A., B.com, or B.Sc., in order to be admitted. A degree from your graduation with roughly 50 credits is required. Only if you receive % or more in the test will you be allowed to enrol. However, if you fall under the SC or ST categories, you may also be admitted at 45%. There is no upper age limit for taking this course. Let's now discuss the application process for this course.

How do I enrol in a PGDM programme?

Speaking of admission to the PGDM programme, there are two methods to apply: either directly or through an entrance exam. However, entrance exams are typically the sole way to enter into this. You must pass one of the entrance exams from the CAT, MAT, GMAT, XAT, or ATMA if you wish to enrol in this programme from a reputable college. Only then will you be granted admission.

A well-liked management course that may be taken either full- or part-time is the PGDM. The value of an MBA and a PGDM is comparable in terms of career opportunities in India and overseas. Specializations in marketing, finance, human resources, operations management, international business, analytics, information technology, etc. are available through this two-year programme.

However, the student's interests and the potential for future growth and development in that field should be the first things taken into account when selecting a specialisation. Each specialisation addresses a different aspect of management. However, in order for an organisation to work, each of them must be connected internally and rely on one another. Therefore, regardless of the specialisation one chooses, a student in the Industry-Integrated & Industry-Oriented PGDM programme needs to have a fair understanding of all subjects. Before choosing a specialised sector, it would be important to familiarise yourself with everything that it entails.

What specialisation you possess is one of the fundamental criteria that will influence the career path you take. PGDM offers a number of parts where you can choose to focus according to your knowledge and interests.

A PGDM programme may provide specialisations in the following areas:

Public policy and management: Youth are primarily interested in taking the course on public policy and management. The course provides a clear understanding of crises, poverty, and liberalisation. They could work as a researcher, professor, or even a journalist.

Business analytics: This curriculum assists students in learning both qualitative and quantitative research methods, ranging from basic to advanced. It is multidisciplinary and involves instruction in business management, communication, leadership, and technological skills.

International business: As the course's name suggests, international business provides knowledge necessary to comprehend international trade. It teaches how to navigate the intricacies and difficulties of doing business abroad. teaches managerial abilities as well. Students that pursue their goals may find employment in the global financial industry, import-export, as a business analyst, etc.

Logistic management: Students in the logistic management programme receive training to become experts in supply and chain management. It imparts the knowledge necessary to manage goods, inventory, and

International finance: The course's emphasis is on international finance and how it operates, as implied by its name. How and at what rate international financial institutions lend money to various organisations. Students who enrol in this degree have numerous chances in areas such as international accounting and auditing.

Marketing: The study of the market is the main topic of the marketing course. It includes things like product design, marketing, pricing, and market research and analysis. This course will prepare you for careers as a marketing manager, sales manager, or market analyst.

Management of human resources: The company's human resources are essentially what hold it together. Basically, your job will be to observe the state of affairs, determine whether employees are content with their jobs, and—best of all—do an evaluation.

Operations: This unit of study focuses on the development, production, and consumption of products. The application makes sure that everything runs smoothly. The major goals are to enhance students' purchasing and material management abilities, utilise the supply chain, and prepare them to produce high-quality work.

Your career after graduation will clear the way for a more promising future in business. You have many work options depending on your field of study, stream, area of interest, aptitude, and talents. As a result, your first step should be to identify your interests and the type of work that will make you happy.

This programme stands out since it does not place restrictions on applicants based on their educational background, suggesting that anyone from the humanities, sciences, or business can enrol in a PGDM degree. Another distinguishing trait is the course's approach, which is entirely application-based and industry-integrated rather than purely theoretical. Having said that, a number of business schools in the Pune area offer PGDM programmes, with ISBS PGDM(Indira School of Business Studies) being the finest.
