Due to the ever changing, dynamic environment one needs to keep oneself updated in order to survive in today’s hypercompetitive world.

When there is an ocean of talented workforce is available, being just a graduate is not an option today!

In order to keep oneself at par with the industry and to have an extra edge, pursuing MBA after engineering is considered to be a good option because of many reasons and some of them are discussed here.

Today organizations have access to plethora of potential workforce, so they tend to choose the best and the more qualified from the rest. Pursuing MBA after engineering gives you that edge over those plain graduates and makes you make attractive and more suitable for a job. It adds weight to one’s resume and increases the chances of getting the dream job.

Organizations prefer to hire those candidates who have not just technical skills but also other skills like leadership skills, analytical skills, soft skills etc. An MBA course helps you develop these skills. Today corporates look for those who can take up the charge and take initiatives which help to achieve the organizational goals.

While technical skills can land you a job but to thrive and excel in career, mere technical skills do not suffice. Organizations look for much more than a technically competent individual. They look for someone who can lead and direct self and others.

There are some specializations in MBA that are more suitable for engineers like OSCM (Operations & Supply Chain Management) and Business Analytics. Companies that look for suitable candidates for these profiles prefer engineers over others as engineers are good at logical thinking, Problem solving, Number crunching, etc. If you look at the data of packages being offered to MBA students, one of the highest paid MBA specialization is Business Analytics and engineers do well in this specialization because of their aptitude for numbers. MBA after engineering helps in grooming the overall personality of an individual and it helps to widen your thinking by giving you a strategic as well as operational perspective hence making you a valuable asset for the organization.
