After BA Can I Do MBA? Is It The Right Choice?

If you’re wondering if you can develop a successful career in Business Management after completing a BA program, the answer is yes. An MBA is most sought after in the worldwide professional arena, and it is the best option for any student who wants to be successful in life. In India and abroad, a wide range of MBA courses and specializations are available required to meet the course’s eligibility requirements as set forth by the respective colleges.

Why pursue an MBA after completing a BA?

Choosing a stream that suits your specific career goals and then working toward it with appropriate internships will ensure that your career progresses in the right path. Students who have studied fine arts stream topics and desire to pursue a BA should carefully consider an MBA because the subjects in both degrees are highly different. The transition from one to the other will be gradual!

A BA program is a broad curriculum in which a student learns a little about many areas rather than focusing on one subject in particular. When we talk about an MBA, though, we’re talking about something specific, career-oriented, and with a wide range of specializations. As a result, pursuing an MBA after the BA program will benefit you greatly. You can build a name for yourself in the global arena, start your firm, or even work as an HR director for a large corporation.

MBA after BA: Eligibility criteria

Students must be aware of the eligibility requirements, which are the same for all MBA programs. Students who have earned their 3-year undergraduate degrees from a recognized board are considerable for MBA enrollment. Only students who have received a minimum of 50% in their undergraduate degree can apply for MBA entrance tests. In India, the MBA selection process includes personal interviews and group discussions.

Other requirements, such as a minimum of two years of work experience, apply to Executive MBA programs and MBA programs abroad. Candidates who do not meet the above eligibility requirements will not be allowed to take the exam and opt-out of the position.

Are MBA and PGDM identical? Let’s find out.

PGDM and MBA, according to our experienced Career Counselors, are equally equivalent in terms of market acceptance, curriculum, and weightage. It is entirely dependent on individuals as well as institutional accreditation. If you graduate from one of India’s top business schools, concentrate on the curriculum and flexibility, as management is a talent that must be gained from experienced and up-to-date industry experts.

A PGDM adds a lot of value to your resume and, as a result, to your career. You can do PGDM after BA (or any graduation) or after a few years of professional experience. Both options have advantages. There is also an Executive PGDM program that you can pursue if you have the required years of work experience.

Reasons you should opt for PGDM after BA

  • Make Use of the Learning Mode- You will have recently completed your graduation, so the fundamental concepts you learned will be fresh in your mind. This knowledge will aid you in your PGDM because you will already be familiar with the topics.
  • A Successful Career Begins with Valuable Opportunities- A PGDM graduate can get a head start in his career and earn a lot of money. Employers are ready to recruit you right away because you are trained during your PGDM course. They will not have to teach you from scratch.
  • Networking Opportunities in the Industry- You will have numerous opportunities for industry contact and exposure as a PGDM student. PGDM universities ensure this through industrial internship programs, actual projects, and expert talks. The networking and mingling they do during these events help them advance in their professional careers.
  • Personal and professional skills should be developed. A PGDM not only gives you industrial knowledge and practical experience but also allows you to improve your skills. As a result, enrolling in this PGDM program soon after graduation allows you to perfect both sets of talents before entering the corporate world.

Finally, consider your life’s ultimate goal. What do you hope to accomplish with your management degree? What kind of future career do you envisage for yourself? This should be the most important consideration when selecting a program. You could also consider your preferences in terms of the program’s nature (on-campus or not), location, and direct career outcomes. You should think about how much you’re willing to spend on it.

Any top school’s PGDM program will guarantee you a rewarding job. Because of the program’s pedagogy and close industry interaction, PGDM graduates may have an advantage, allowing them to stay more pragmatic and relevant in the industry for longer. An MBA from a reputable college or university with a long track record in the business, on the other hand, can help you reach specific urgent career goals at a fraction of the price.

With the above points, we conclude that aspirants joining management programs, (MBA or PGDM after BA) is one of the advantages for our nation. However, saying that personal goals and interests also play an important role.
