Indira School Of Business Studies, Pune organized its 2nd Convocation Ceremony, IMPRINTS on 6th Feb, 2010, at its Universe Campus. The convocation witnessed around 85 Students who completed their PGDM programme from ISBS, being conferred their diplomas by Shri Suhas Anand Bhat, Chairman & Managing Director, Indian Overseas Bank.
Indira School of Business Studies (ISBS) was established under the aegis of Shree Chanakya Education Society (SCES) in the year 2000 under the visionary leadership of Ms Tarita Shankar, with the explicit vision to provide sustainable impetus to the corporate and entrepreneurial abilities in the youth whose growth is enabled and sustained by the expertise and exertions of Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, Group Director, Indira Group of Institutes.
The Ceremony started with singing of national anthem and cultural events followed by felicitating the Chief guest Shri Suhas Anand Bhat, CMD Indian Overseas bank, Shri Ravindra Gandhi, GM, Indian Overseas bank and other dignitaries from Indian Overseas bank. A total of 85 students were handed out their diplomas at the hands of the Chief Guest, along with other awards for best student in various categories were awarded for academic achievements. At this occasion the institute instituted the ISBS Distinguished Alumni Awards by conferring awards to its most enterprising Alumni.
On this occasion, Shri Suhas Anand Bhat, Chairman & Managing Director, Indian Overseas Bank congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to work for the betterment of the society. He also said, “It is now the correct time to work towards fulfilling your dreams and aim at becoming young entrepreneurs for the bright future of our country.” Speaking further on the 2nd Convocation, he said while dwelling at length in the back-drop of fast-changing developments in the banking sector exhorted on the young management executives not to get tempted to exaggerate the risk perception in the minds of clients and never allow ones conscience to be side stepped by considerations of short term gains. With his experience of more than 35 years, he explained the growing opportunities in the banking sector and motivated the students by taking on a journey of his career and his achievements. He enlightened the audience about the dynamics in the banking sector and encouraged the youth to take on good decisions of their career by making them realize the kind of opportunities available today which were not there a decade back.
On this occasion Chairperson Ms. Tarita Shanker, Group Director Prof. Chetan Wakalkar & Director ISBS Dr. Renu Bhargava, stressed mainly on the issue of sustainability and goodness towards society. They motivated the graduates to think beyond and said that the need of the hour is to hone the skills and expertise towards sustainable development and long term enhancement of the society rather than just to be engrossed in developing their careers alone. As an ISBSian they appealed to the graduates to take on initiatives to maintain & build excellence in society by unleashing their competencies with creative & analytical potentials in the management fields. They urged the graduates to be ethical and be moral in all aspects of life and asked every student to pledge to work towards the betterment of the society at large and strive to give in the best. |
